PARIS, FRANCE - 1987
Paris is one of those fascinating and energizing major European cities with sights everywhere that delights the eye of a photographer. While there on sabbatical leave I brought with me an 8x10 field camera to photograph in color the contrasts I was finding between the classical architecture and the raw wall posters and billboards and graffiti that reflect a more contemporary and lively Paris.

ROME, ITALY - 1989
Rome is a mixture of contrasts and contradictions; ancient ruins, endless traffic, people hurrying everywhere, amazing classical churches and architecture. I photographed there in color with a 4x5 field camera and upon returning home printed the negatives on color papers, cut them into pieces which were then re-arranged in collages to express my experience of being in this wonderful and chaotic city.
