On the Road-Route US 20
My early photography: 1968 to 1989.
San Francisco, CA - 1968-69
Bus and Train Depots. I saw many of the same people in these Depots day after day like permanent residents.
Byron Hot Springs, CA -1969-70
Byron Hot Springs was a plush and currently abandoned turn of the 20th century hot springs resort in Stockton CA with a fascinating history.
Point Lobos, CA - 1968
The rock formations at Point Lobos on the California coast are breathtaking and amazing in the soft late afternoon light.
White Sands, NM - 1971
The dunes are like waves in the ocean but with no water. In the soft afternoon light they ripple endlessly
Studio Collages - 1980-81
For this I chose to photograph everyday objects which then grew into a series of arranged assortments and juxtapositions of odd and unusual objects.
Paris FRANCE - 1987
Paris is a contrast between the classic architecture and modern every day signs and graffiti that speaks of contemporary life in Paris. These were created from 8x10 color negatives.
Rome ITALY - 1989
Rome is a contradiction with a crazy mixture of ancient and modern, ruins, traffic congestions, people in a hurry, etc. To express this I created a series collages in my studio mixing pieces printed from 4x5 color negatives taken in Rome.
